SIGNAL RECOVERY is a world leader in the design and manufacture of lock-in amplifiers, signal averagers, amplifiers, light choppers and specialized voltmeters.

Some of the high grade Boxcars and Signal Averagers offered by Signal Recovery are the following:

ECLIPSE Digital Signal Averager
with 2 GSa/s Effective Sampling Rate
The Eclipse is a high performance, digital signal averager supplied as a compact line-powered console designed to be operated from a personal computer. Some of its features are:

  • 2 GSa/s (500 ps per point) effective sampling rate (500 MSa/s real-time sampling rate)
  • Record lengths up to 262,144 points (131 µs at 500 ps/point)
  • 1 to 65,536 sweeps averaged per record
  • <1 µs end-of-scan deadtime during averaging(<1 % idle time)
  • Precision Enhancer- transforms 8-bit ADC into 12-bit ADC, for 16 times greater dynamic range
  • Computes and displays an FFT of recorded waveforms
  • Complete with software and ActiveX Controls compatible with LabVIEW, C++, Visual Basic and other popular software packages

4100 Series
Digital Boxcar Averager Systems

The 4100 series of Boxcar Signal Averagers is made up of NIM standard modules plugged into a NIM bin and power supply. A system consists of boxcar averager module(s), ADC/display module(s), NIM frame and power supply, and optional software interconnected to produce a number of configurations, ranging from a simple single channel static gate system to a complex multi-channel system running under computer control. Systems can be upgraded by adding extra modules to increase the number of input channels.

Model 4121B
Boxcar Averager Module

This module is an ideal component for building boxcar averager systems. It includes a wide bandwidth variable gain AC/DC coupled input amplifier with continuous input offset adjustment and a high speed sampling gate with variable width and delay controls. It operates in normal or two baseline sampling modes and features a switch-selected choice of how many samples are included in the averaging process.

Model 4161A
Dual Channel ADC, Display, and Control Module

The model 4161A is a dual channel, analog to digital converter (ADC) module which will measure one or two analog voltages, display the result on a digital panel meter, and allow it to be read by an external computer connected to the module's RS232 or GPIB interface.

The model 4161A is primarily intended to act as the interface between one or two model 4121B boxcar averager modules and the controlling computer. In multiple 4121B systems more than one 4161A can be used to digitize the data from several boxcar averagers, with all the results being read via the GPIB interface.
