Bioluminescence imaging (BLI) and biofluorescence imaging (BFI) enable monitoring of gene expression in living organisms.
In 1989 BERTHOLD TECHNOLOGIES introduced its first low light imaging instrument – the LB 980 Luminograph. The first in-vivo gene expression experiments in plants and animals performed on this instrument date back to the year 1993. Today's generation of low light imagers from BERTHOLD TECHNOLOGIES, the LB 983 NightOWL II, is equipped with cooled slow scan CCD Cameras.
Whole animals and plants can be imaged as well as blots, gels, microplates, cell culture dishes and arrays regardless of the luminescent or fluorescent markers used. Optical calibration ensures the comparability of all images captured with the NightOWL.

biological subjects are patented and may require licences from
third parties. Users are advised to independently determine for
themselves whether their activities infringe any valid patent.

Gel Documentation System

NightHAWK is a PC-controlled gel documentation system with an integrated full automated digital camera. High resolution, zoom and wide lens emphasize the top quality of this instrument.
Camera is controlled by the software package HAWKview. Besides camera controlling HAWKview offers many functions for image processing and editing. Images are stored as TIF- or JPG-files in an integrated database.

NightOWL Cam LB 982
|
BERTHOLD TECHNOLOGIES offers two different slow scan CCD cameras, NC 320, a front illuminated with high array resolution, and NC 100, a back illuminated with high full well capacity. Adaption of these CCD camera to a microscope enables the investigation of cells, tissue sections from insects, animals and plants.
